Electrical Assembler III Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Assembler III to join our team at Collins Aerospace. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and repairing electronic units with a high degree of precision and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble a variety of electronic units using industry-standard techniques and tools.
  • Identify and manage components, wires, and materials needed for assembly.
  • Perform precision soldering using industry-standard techniques and tools.
  • Operate assembly machines and ensure proper functioning.
  • Measure, mix, and apply chemicals and adhesives according to safety and operational guidelines.
  • Read and interpret technical data, including component maintenance manuals, assembly instructions, and engineering prints.
  • Effectively communicate work status to team members and support staff.
  • Write clear and concise records and maintain accurate documentation.
Requirements:
  • Typically requires a HS Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or In the absence of a HS Diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).
Working Environment:

You will be working in a fast-paced production environment with occasional weekend and holiday support required to meet customer needs. You will be exposed to products of various weights and sizes, equipment with moving parts, and chemicals that may emit fumes. To minimize safety risk, you must wear static-control and personal protective equipment.

Physical Demands:
  • Distinguishing colors and meeting vision requirements.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, turning as needed to place units in test stands, pick up totes, place units on rack, etc.
  • Using hands for extended periods of time to perform testing and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Sitting or standing at a workbench/test stand for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted.
