Description

Dmsusa is in search of a proficient and skilled Senior Procurement Specialist. This role involves executing a range of advanced purchasing tasks. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of intricate procurement principles and includes responsibilities for guiding and mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate procurement contracts and foster positive relationships with suppliers in a dynamic, engineer-to-order setting.
  • Oversee procurement and planning operations pertinent to the site.
  • Regularly assess agreements to guarantee optimal pricing, service, and quality.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, production control, and other operational teams to ensure specifications are fulfilled, parts are accessible, and quality standards are upheld.
  • Develop suitable inventory strategies for assigned commodities.
  • Process purchase requisitions, amendments, and supplier quote requests.
  • Engage in optimizing the purchasing team's changes, part parameters, quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code details.
  • Identify and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best lead times, pricing, and quality.
  • Accountable for achieving year-over-year cost reductions for materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient understanding of a quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the capability to cultivate positive working relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with gas delivery components and sheet metal parts is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP software is desirable.

Educational/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management is preferred, or equivalent experience. APICS/NAPM certification is a plus.

Experience Requirements:

Work Experience:

5+ years of procurement experience.
