Corporate Advisory / M&A Team

Our Corporate Advisory / M&A division is committed to delivering exceptional capital markets advisory services to both public and private real estate clients. This team combines robust relationships, capital markets knowledge, and real estate expertise to provide corporate clients with superior guidance. The U.S. Corporate Advisory / M&A team operates from our New York and San Francisco offices, focusing on:

  • Public and private mergers and acquisitions
  • Entity-level sales and recapitalizations
  • Equity and debt capital raising
  • Portfolio and asset-level joint ventures
  • General Partner stake sales and Limited Partner secondary sales

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will undertake significant responsibilities, which may include:

  • Collaborating closely with senior team members on presentations and financial analyses
  • Creating intricate financial analyses, including valuations at both entity and portfolio levels, mergers, and other pertinent financial evaluations
  • Conducting thorough company, real estate, and market research
  • Analyzing public company financial statements and preparing comparative analyses
  • Drafting client materials and internal reports
  • Overseeing and coordinating the deal process from initial pitch to transaction completion
  • Engaging in and occasionally leading client meetings, management discussions, due diligence visits, site evaluations, and other client interactions

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in investment banking, commercial real estate, or related financial services

Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate will exhibit a blend of academic excellence, quantitative skills, personal drive, and exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. The individual must manage multiple significant projects concurrently, demonstrating effectiveness both independently and as part of a diverse team.

  • Advanced financial modeling skills using Excel and meticulous attention to detail
  • Capability to perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of real estate transactions, utilizing advanced underwriting techniques and a deep understanding of equity and debt capital structures
  • Ability to conceptualize real estate investment opportunities within the context of relevant microeconomic and macroeconomic factors
  • Proven ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated capacity to consistently deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
