HR Coordinator

The Administrative Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our agency's administrative processes. As a key member of the Human Resources department, this position provides critical support to our HR functions, ensuring the efficient processing of pre-employment requirements, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service to our employees.
**Key Responsibilities:*** Maintain electronic personnel and human resources department files according to department protocols
* Review personnel changes in the agency's HRIS system and Learning Management System
* Coordinate and process pre-employment background checks, degree verifications, and other pre-employment requirements prior to onboarding new staff
* In concert with the Accounting Department, prepare separation packets and final pay for departing staff
* Assist with onboarding new hires, including requisitioning equipment, BACS backpacks, and BACS t-shirts, etc.
* Schedule all trainings with appropriate trainers and support trainers with resource needs
* Answer employee questions relating to various payroll, benefits, and day-to-day HR questions
* Process employment verifications, EDD unemployment insurance, state disability insurance claims, and employer responses to FMLA, CFRA, and PDL leaves; maintain documentation for file
* Manage creation of, updates to, and termination of accounts for county systems, including but not limited to Clinician's Gateway, SmartCare, and Avatar
* Track, update, and maintain various checklists utilized by the HR team
* Ensure required legal postings are up-to-date at each of BACS' work sites
* Assist with projects and data requests to achieve strategic objectives
* Support HR Administrators with implementation of in-person trainings at least twice annually
* Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- AA/AS or higher in business, communications, marketing, or social services discipline required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of one year's work experience in human resources required
- Social services agency experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams, and ability to type 45 WPM are required
