Job Overview

The Encore Boston Harbor Guest Services Representative plays a crucial role in managing and directing guest communications through the PBX system. This position is dedicated to addressing guest inquiries and requests by collaborating with various departments, particularly Housekeeping, to ensure a seamless experience. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional, courteous, and professional service while upholding the privacy and dignity of all guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the development and execution of departmental goals and policies, while assessing operational effectiveness and implementing necessary improvements.
  • Contribute to the accuracy and confidentiality of departmental processes and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable laws within the department.
  • Deliver outstanding service consistently.
  • Facilitate effective communication and share best practices across the organization.
  • Stay updated on departmental developments and changes.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to deadlines, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Handle and direct all incoming calls efficiently.
  • Respond to guest requests promptly and follow up to confirm service satisfaction.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for guests regarding property information and address any concerns.
  • Maintain awareness of hotel occupancy, special events, and relevant information impacting daily operations.
  • Prioritize safety and adhere to departmental and company safety protocols.
  • Engage in ongoing education and training to enhance industry knowledge.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as required.
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each responsibility effectively. The following qualifications are essential:

Age and Licensing: Must be at least 18 years old and obtain necessary licensing from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in a call center environment is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is advantageous.

Skills: Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Language Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret documents such as manuals and instructions. Conversational English is required, along with the ability to effectively communicate information.

Mathematical Skills: Capability to perform basic calculations and maintain reports as needed.

Physical Requirements: Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. Must be able to lift or maneuver up to fifty (50) pounds.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, with occasional increases in volume in certain areas. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to meet the demands of the hospitality industry. Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.
