Fleet Automotive Maintenance Supervisor Role

Job Title: Lead Fleet Automotive Maintenance TechnicianWe are currently hiring a Lead Fleet Auto Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for performing inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will have a mastery in majority of technical disciplines and be relied upon to mentor and teach other technicians in a manner most conducive to different learning styles.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform Routine Maintenance: The Lead Fleet Auto Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
- Diagnose and Repair: The technician will diagnose and repair various types of equipment including electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, air conditioning systems, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, differentials, etc.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: The technician will maintain a clean and safe work environment, assist in cleanup at the end of each day for tools, parts, and equipment.
- Install, Maintain, Troubleshoot, and Repair: The technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair aftermarket equipment in vehicles.
- Support Fleet Auto Maintenance Technicians: The technician will support Fleet Auto Maintenance Technicians I/II/Sr with diagnosis, technical issues, training, and obtaining parts.
- Mentor and Teach: The technician will mentor and teach other Technicians in the Shop in a manner most conducive to their particular learning style.
- Lead and Develop Technicians: The technician will lead and develop other Technicians by providing ongoing feedback.
- Education: High School Diploma/GED and 7 years' experience. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 5 years' experience; or 9 years' experience in a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Automotive Technician on light, medium, or heavy-duty vehicle repair or equivalent combination of technical education/certifications/skill/experiences.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed. Knowledge of motor vehicle engines, parts, and systems, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, to make repairs or perform maintenance services.
$65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
