Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Friendship Community Care. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our clients, enabling them to live independently and with dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living skills, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Provide transportation to and from appointments and activities, ensuring clients' safety and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of client progress, including behavioral reports, incident reports, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement client care plans, ensuring the highest level of quality care.
  • Follow proper medication management guidelines and assist clients with medication administration.
  • Organize and lead recreational activities, promoting socialization and engagement among clients.
  • Model good role modeling and adhere to our organization's dress code and code of conduct.
  • Assist with facility maintenance and upkeep, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for clients.
  • Attend training and continuing education sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two+ years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with state minimum liability insurance required.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
