Job Title: Director of Development

At Johns Hopkins University, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to join our Development and Alumni Relations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development efforts for the Carey Business School, with a focus on cultivating and soliciting major gifts from alumni, friends, and corporate partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy for the Carey Business School, aligned with the university's overall development goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, friends, and corporate partners, to identify and cultivate major gift opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Relations to develop and implement fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, including identifying, cultivating, and soliciting gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Work closely with the Development and Alumni Relations team to ensure effective communication and coordination of development efforts across the university.
  • Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other materials to support development efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Seven years of experience in development, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in major gift fundraising, with a focus on alumni and corporate relations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
