Position Overview:
As a Patient Services Representative, you will be responsible for welcoming patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties

1. Greet patients, staff, and visitors in a courteous manner to ensure a positive experience.

2. Provide clear directions and information regarding clinical services, administrative meetings, and other inquiries to help individuals reach their destinations.

3. Collaborate with Emergency Department personnel for incoming surgical patients.
  • Assist patients with necessary documentation.
  • Notify surgical teams of waiting patients.
4. Offer transportation assistance for patients and their families at the entrance by guiding them to the registration area.

5. Handle general communication tasks, including managing phone calls and maintaining informational materials such as maps and patient guides, ensuring clarity in addressing customer needs.

6. Perform additional duties as required, fostering teamwork and positively contributing to the training of new employees by assisting with the implementation of updated procedures and job functions to enhance service delivery.

Work Schedule:
This position is part-time, requiring 18 hours per week, typically consisting of three six-hour shifts during the afternoon and evening hours, with occasional weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications:
Education
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates with significant experience in customer service may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Participation in mandatory training and continuing education programs is required.
Experience
  • Prior experience in customer service and familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively meeting customer needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully is required.
  • Proficiency in computer usage is necessary.
  • Capability to assist patients and families in navigating the facility.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in various settings.
Physical Requirements

This role may involve medium physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
