Operations and Maintenance Technician II

DTE Energy is a leading energy company that fuels homes and communities across the nation. As an Operations and Maintenance Technician II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fuel yard. This position requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, fuel handling, and maintenance procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Operate heavy mobile equipment, including front-end loaders and conveyors, to blend and store wood fuel for the boiler.
- Monitor and maintain fuel yard equipment, including scales and receiving hoppers.
- Assist in the daily inspection and maintenance of conveyer systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fuel yard equipment.
- Collaborate with the Operations Supervisor and O&M Technician IV to ensure seamless operations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Background in operating loaders, maintenance, and shift work.
This position requires frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme heat and cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or machinery and burns. Exposed to protected and unprotected heights, which requires the use of a personal fall protection system (harness/lifeline). Occasionally exposed to vibration and fumes or airborne particles which will require the use of personal protective equipment including respirators; flame retardant clothing; self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), etc.
