About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Chiller Mechanic with a minimum of five years' experience in commercial, industrial, and/or institutional markets. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and rebuilds of medium-large tonnage chillers of all brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute contract maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, service requests, and recommend necessary upgrades or repairs to prolong equipment life cycle.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers through effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Provide quote estimates for labor and material repairs and upgrades as needed.
  • Represent the company as the direct customer contact and be responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects.
  • Use cutting-edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand tools, rigging equipment, and follow blueprints or engineering specifications to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets.

Requirements

  • Three years of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional experience with all types of chillers, various compressor technologies, chiller control systems, and speed drives.
  • Requires Mechanical Journeyman status.
  • Member of Local Union 211 or willing to join.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers.
  • Adherence to company safety program.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Appropriate licenses to work with refrigerant, boiler, and steam operational and service knowledge.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than 5 years of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional experience with all types of chillers, various compressor technologies, chiller control systems, and speed drives.
