Position Overview:

The role of the Business Banker is pivotal in fostering new business connections and nurturing existing client relationships. This position emphasizes the importance of understanding client needs, enhancing the bank's community presence, and achieving financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Relationship Development: Cultivate new business partnerships while maintaining and enhancing current client relationships. This involves assessing client banking needs, promoting suitable products and services, and addressing any issues that may arise.
  2. Prospective Client Engagement: Implement a systematic approach to identify potential clients through referrals and proactive outreach, including cold calling and participation in community events.
  3. Networking: Build and maintain relationships with key referral sources, such as CPAs and attorneys, through regular communication and appreciation initiatives.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with various departments within the bank to promote a cohesive image and develop new business opportunities.
  5. Community Involvement: Actively participate in local events and serve on boards of community organizations to enhance the bank's visibility and reputation.
  6. Reporting: Compile and submit detailed reports on business development activities to keep management informed and aligned with strategic goals.
  7. Advisory Role: Provide guidance and support to junior business development staff and commercial bankers in their client engagement strategies.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in business or commercial banking.
Skills: Strong project management, communication, customer service, and analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Office applications is required, along with a solid understanding of lending regulations and successful business development practices.
