We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at VH-H Rosemont LLC. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for training, supervising, and working with our cook and culinary staff to prepare, cook, and present food according to our hotel's standard recipes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign specific duties to kitchen staff for efficient operation and visually inspect food products for quality.
  • Read and employ math skills for following recipes, process requisitions for supplies, and select, train, and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Schedule culinary staff to maintain proper coverage while keeping payroll costs in line.
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products to comply with health department regulations.
  • Adhere to control procedures for cost and quality.
Requirements
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Thorough working knowledge of hot and cold food preparation.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and applicable health codes.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and physically handle knives, pots, and other equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Availability

This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. At times, it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed work day or time of work if business or task assignments demand.
