Job Summary

HireQuest Direct is seeking skilled Hurricane Clean-Up Workers to join our team in Asheville, NC. As a key member of our disaster response team, you will play a critical role in assisting with storm recovery, debris removal, demolition, and restoration efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remove Water: Utilize pumps, wet vacuums, and dehumidifiers to extract standing water and moisture from affected buildings.
  • Tear Out Damaged Materials: Safely remove water-damaged materials such as drywall, insulation, and flooring to prevent mold growth.
  • Clean and Disinfect: Thoroughly clean all surfaces with disinfectants to prevent mold and bacteria growth.
  • Dry Out: Ensure buildings are thoroughly dried out using fans, dehumidifiers, and ventilation.
  • Repair and Restore: Initiate repairs and restoration once buildings are dry and disinfected, including structural repairs, electrical work, and replacing damaged materials.
  • Debris Removal

As a Hurricane Clean-Up Worker, you will be responsible for tasks such as demolition, cleaning, flood services, drying, deodorization, and content cleaning. You will also set up protective measures, maintain tools and equipment, and ensure work is completed according to supervisor specifications. Proper disposal of trash and recycling is also a key aspect of the job.

To succeed in this role, you must be flexible and able to adapt to fast-changing environments. You should be comfortable working with general cleaning equipment and chemicals and able to lift up to 30 pounds with frequent bending, reaching, carrying, and balancing.
