CORE Community Organized Relief Effort is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Program Manager to oversee the implementation of resource navigation and home repair programs in response to Hurricane Helene. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting BIPOC and LatinX communities, ensuring they access vital recovery resources, and connecting with NGOs and agencies to support marginalized groups affected by the disaster.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the implementation of resource navigation and home repair programs in line with CORE's mission to support recovery efforts for marginalized communities affected by Hurricane Helene.
- Identify and assist homes and communities in need of mucking and gutting or mold suppression services, with a focus on BIPOC and LatinX communities facing barriers to recovery resources.
- Collaborate with NGOs, government agencies, and local organizations to compile and share resources with resource navigators, ensuring marginalized communities receive critical recovery support.
- Build and foster partnerships with recovery-focused organizations to create a network of support for communities impacted by the hurricane.
- Organize disaster recovery events addressing the specific needs of marginalized groups, such as addressing disaster trauma, legal aid, food insecurity, rent/utility assistance, and home repairs.
- Track program metrics, gather data on program performance, and prepare reports for CORE's leadership and emergency response teams.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify further funding opportunities and support the continuation of programming beyond the initial two-month funding period.
- Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and any applicable local, state, or federal laws related to program activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related fields.
- Or 3 years of relevant experience in disaster recovery, program management, or community outreach, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and community organizations.
- Proficiency in data collection and reporting for program performance.
- Demonstrated experience working with BIPOC and LatinX communities, particularly in disaster recovery or resource navigation.
- Experience in navigating the FEMA application and appeals process.
- Bilingual in Spanish (highly preferred).
- Experience working in disaster recovery programs, particularly mucking and gutting operations or home repair projects.
- Familiarity with community-based organizations and a strong understanding of the recovery challenges faced by marginalized communities.
- Demonstrated ability to identify funding opportunities and develop grant applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, for data tracking and reporting.
