About the Role

We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team at RHA Health Services. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health and/or substance use needs to live their best lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model effective coping and self-help techniques to individuals
  • Provide empowerment skills and support in successful recovery living
  • Assist individuals in finding resources, advising on processes, and encouraging follow-through with proposed resolutions
  • Lead peer support groups with individuals served
  • Support/assist individuals in daily decision-making and resolution of minor problems
  • Facilitate social opportunities in the community
  • Foster development of healthy relationships by encouraging participation in community activities
  • Share personal story of recovery and resilience to instill hope
Requirements
  • Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist in NC
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly rate starting at $17.50/hour (increased to $18/hour at 6 months) plus $25 phone stipend
  • Monday - Friday / 40 hours per week schedule
  • Clinical supervision twice monthly and daily support of your supervisor on-site
