Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner Specialist

At Baylor Scott & White Health, we are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner to join our team.
Job Summary:
- We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Clinical Practice: Our Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner will work closely with our cardiothoracic surgeons to provide high-quality patient care in the operating room and procedural settings. They will assess patients, order lab tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans.
- First Assist/Second Assist: The selected candidate will assist surgeons during cardiothoracic surgeries, meeting all required training and aptitude levels.
- Patient Care: Our ideal candidate will round on patients in the hospital or see them in the Emergency Department, providing follow-up care both pre- and post-operatively.
- Counseling: Our Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner will counsel patients about their medical conditions, treatment options, and behavior modification.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduation from an accredited program is required.
- Experience: Less than 1 year of experience in cardiothoracic nursing or related field is preferred.
- Certification/License/Registration: Current RN licensure or compact privilege, APRN certification in Texas, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer are necessary.
