Job Description

Whitaker Bank Corp of Kentucky is seeking a highly skilled Special Assets Manager to join our team. As a key member of our banking operations, you will be responsible for leading loan workout and collection efforts across all business lending lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of criticized, classified, or delinquent credits, applying credit officer, asset management, and risk management principles.
  • Evaluate financial information, collateral, legal documents, and available data to project probable exposure to loss and recommend workout strategies.
  • Collaborate with in-house and outside counsel to manage workout and collection cases, leveraging expertise in legal documents, loan covenants, and loan agreements.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies, coaching collection teams and loan officers to optimize results.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on the Special Assets portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate information for stakeholders.
  • Manage the Bank's Other Real Estate Owned (OREO) properties, ensuring compliance with banking regulations and policies.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a 4-Year college or technical school, or 5 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations and Bank operational policies.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, mainframe computer systems, and word processing, spreadsheet, and graphical software programs.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
Working Environment

The Special Assets Manager will work in a non-confined office-type setting, with occasional driving required (approximately 0-5% of the time). The position involves exposure to outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts. The incumbent will spend most of their time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 15 pounds), seeing, sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
