Budget Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Budget Analyst to join our team at the Office of the Chief Financial Officer in Washington, DC. As a Budget Analyst, you will play a critical role in formulating, justifying, monitoring, and executing the budget of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and justify budget requests for various departments and programs
  • Monitor and analyze budget performance to ensure compliance with established criteria and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies to enhance budget efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide recommendations and accurate budget projections to support informed decision-making
  • Coordinate with program managers and financial personnel to obtain necessary information for budget justification
Requirements:
  • Two (2) years of progressive experience in budget analysis and financial planning
  • Experience with ERP financial systems, such as Oracle or SAP
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
