Job Summary

CBO's Budget Analysis Division is seeking a skilled analyst to join its Scorekeeping Unit. The successful candidate will coordinate cost estimates for appropriation bills, collaborate with other analysts, and contribute to scorekeeping reports related to budget enforcement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate estimates for appropriation bills and collaborate with other analysts in the division
  • Contribute to scorekeeping reports related to budget enforcement
  • Work closely with Congressional committees, particularly the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations and the Budget
  • Review proposals in the President's annual budget and assist in preparing CBO's baseline budgetary projections
  • Contribute to an annual report, Expired and Expiring Authorizations of Appropriations
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in public policy, public administration, or a related field
  • Or bachelor's degree and at least four years of relevant federal budget experience
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under tight deadlines
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with the federal budget process and Congressional procedures
