In-House Privacy and Information Security Attorney

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join our Privacy and Information Security Unit (PISU) within our Corporate Law Department. As a key member of our team, you will provide legal advice on a range of enterprise programs, including privacy, information security, risk management, and compliance.
Responsibilities- Advise on federal and state privacy and information security requirements, enterprise risk management, and the compliance and ethics program.
- Collaborate with peers in other legal practice groups and business leaders throughout the enterprise to provide legal advice on information retention, crisis management, AML/OFAC, and business continuity.
- Provide legal guidance on general technology-related legal matters, including rapidly evolving areas such as law, technology, and business objectives.
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
- Active license to practice law in at least one state and membership in good standing of the bar.
- Ability to obtain a limited license in IL if not already appropriately licensed in IL.
- 5+ years of experience with privacy and/or information security laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with risk and/or compliance programs.
- Familiarity with State Farm Mutual's company structure and general departments.
- Demonstrated adaptability, learning agility, and ability to excel in a collaborative environment.
- Eligibility to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunity.
