Responsibilities

As a Certified Respiratory Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the respiratory needs of patients and developing tailored Respiratory Care Plans.
  • Operating acute care ventilators for both short-term and long-term mechanical ventilation.
  • Maintaining accurate departmental and hospital records, ensuring data is correctly entered into the hospital's information systems.
  • Administering a range of routine and complex respiratory therapy procedures across all age groups.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Completion of a Vocational/Technical program or an AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associate's Degree); a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • A current Florida State License as a Certified Respiratory Therapist.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within six months of hire.
  • The ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, and moving equipment.

Additional Certifications Required:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment.
  • Neonate Resuscitation within 30 days of employment.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 30 days of employment.
  • State Certification as a Respiratory Therapy Technician or equivalent qualifications.
