Job Summary

The Patient Services Technician plays a vital role in the Department of Clinical Laboratories, responsible for specimen collection, labeling, and processing. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing
  • Verify accuracy and quality of specimens
  • Dispatch specimens to appropriate testing locations
  • Perform test requisition entry and gather patient information
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified phlebotomist preferred through an accredited organization
  • 5 years phlebotomy experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current American Heart Association BLS training preferred
Work Environment

This position is located in the Outpatient Care East lab and requires varying shifts, including weekends and holidays. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
