Acadia Healthcare is currently looking to expand its team with dedicated individuals for the Behavioral Health Associate position. The Behavioral Health Associate plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate personal care services to patients, ensuring a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, following the guidance of the charge nurse or supervisor.
  • Conduct timely rounds to ensure patient safety, maintaining clean and organized patient rooms. Observations may be required every 15 minutes or through 1:1 patient care.
  • Facilitate patient engagement in activities aimed at achieving treatment objectives, responding to any distress in a calm and understanding manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to effectively treat, rehabilitate, and reintegrate patients into the community.
  • Monitor and document behavioral progress, reinforcing positive behaviors and promptly reporting significant changes to the nursing staff.
  • Lead or assist in individual or group sessions as part of therapeutic or recreational activities.
  • Participate in rehabilitation programs and educate patients on strategies to enhance wellness and independence.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferably, candidates should have at least one year of experience working with the relevant patient population.
  • Six months of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certifications are mandatory (training will be provided upon hire).
  • First aid certification may be required based on state or facility guidelines.
