Job Title: Prison Industries Superintendent II

Under the direction of the Supervising Dentist, Correctional Facility or the Prison Industries Superintendent II (Dental Laboratory), the Industrial Supervisor, Prison Industries (Dental Laboratory) is responsible for the production and fabrication of prosthetic devices for inmates in a dental laboratory within a correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage the production of prosthetic devices in a dental laboratory.
  • Ensure compliance with California state regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Supervising Dentist and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Manage and supervise a team of dental laboratory technicians and other support staff.
Requirements:
  • Education equivalent to completion of graduation from college.
  • Assertiveness and experience in a correctional institution.
  • Certification as a dental laboratory technician by the National Board for Certification.
  • Completion of a dental technology program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
  • Management or supervisory experience in a dental laboratory within a correctional facility.
  • Practical experience performing the tasks of a dental laboratory technician in one or more specialties.
