Key Responsibilities:

As a Manufacturing Engineer II at Saint-Gobain, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of our manufacturing facility in Garden Grove, CA.

Collects production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes.

Establishes procedures, supports new product launches, verifies processes, troubleshoots, and assists production areas, ensuring production feasibility, implementing manufacturing strategies, and investigates root causes that can impact key performance indicators.

Key Accountabilities:

Daily communication with multiple stakeholder groups to provide expert guidance on molded and machined processes, driving process improvement through teamwork and collaboration.

Process revalidation to reduce cycle and set up times to the lowest possible without sacrificing part quality.

Assists in training supervisors, leads, operators, and maintenance staff in the safe and proper usage of equipment and tooling.

Coordinates and trains Process / Set-up technicians to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and 5S.

Develops the injection molding process for new tooling.

This includes:

Developing and assisting in process and product monitoring, including the creation of a validation protocol (IQ, OQ, PQ).

All molding machine parameters, peripheral equipment such as thermolators, chillers, and dryers.

Preparing and maintaining molding process workbooks.

Troubleshoots quality issues, including dimensional issues, flash, burn areas, flow marks, and bubbles, to reduce scrap and improve efficiency, reviewing new and existing mold tooling issues with tooling technicians.

Interacts with production supervisors for scheduling and troubleshooting requirements.

Provides process direction to injection molding set-up technicians.

Leads cross-functional team activities to identify top issues, plan and implement corrective actions, and track and validate effectiveness.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (plastics, mechanical, industrial, etc.).

3+ years of Process Engineering experience within a manufacturing production facility, including work within machining processes.

Hands-on mechanical aptitude and problem-solving experience.

Strong communication and leadership/influence experience.

Experience within injection molding/thermoplastic polymers, machining/toolroom is highly preferred.

We believe in pay transparency and provide the national pay range for this position, which is $79,500 to $123,400 per year, with a targeted bonus amount of 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.

The Total Target Cash range for this position is $87,450 to $135,740.
