Job Summary:

Dutchess Community College is looking for a part-time Examination Oversight Specialist to work approximately 15 hours weekly. This role involves overseeing and administering various examinations, including licensure and certification tests, as well as course placement assessments. The schedule may include evening hours and occasional weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with external testing organizations to establish and manage testing schedules and availability.
  • Assist students with scheduling inquiries and communicate necessary information to faculty.
  • Confirm student identities using identification and biometric technology, and facilitate the distribution of exams.
  • Maintain and update testing facilities with necessary software and ensure all equipment is functional.
  • Supervise all forms of testing, including approved accommodations, placement tests, and certification exams.
  • Provide clear instructions to students regarding testing procedures and the objectives of placement assessments.
  • Utilize specialized software to support accessibility for all testers.
  • Distribute test results and guide students on subsequent steps based on their scores.
  • Manage the documentation of completed tests and maintain accurate records.
  • Respond to inquiries from faculty, students, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of the testing environment.
  • Foster a positive testing experience for all participants.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Report any technical issues to the appropriate support staff.
  • Attend departmental meetings and contribute to discussions on best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficient in computer operations and capable of troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with various digital platforms.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a focused environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Flexible availability and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in administering standardized tests such as CLEP and Pearson VUE.
  • Previous experience in a community college setting.

Additional Information:

This position is part-time and temporary, requiring approximately 15 hours of work each week.

Working Conditions:

  • This role primarily involves in-person responsibilities.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is necessary.

Compensation: $27.86 per hour
