Payroll Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to join our team at the City of Hoover. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing payroll processing, developing and maintaining payroll policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries, benefits, and taxes.
- Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage payroll systems and accounting to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure accurate processing of payroll.
- Supervise payroll staff and manage day-to-day activities.
- Stay current on applicable department of labor laws and regulations as it pertains to payroll.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Five or more years of experience in payroll, including two or more years of supervisor experience.
- Experience managing payroll functions of an organization or department.
- Experience with payroll tax reporting.
