About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Operations Manager to join our team at H-E-B. As an Assistant Store Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the Store Leader in managing the day-to-day operations of our store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide primary daytime/mid-shift coverage and manage closing coverage, supporting Store Leaders in their duties.
  • Departmental Oversight: Directly oversee auxiliary departmental functions and services, including the Cash Office, Service Co., Facilities, and Customer Champions.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customers receive exceptional service, resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Business Operations: Accountable for the business operations of the Gas Station, Cash Office, Business Center, and maintenance areas.
  • Compliance and Audits: Conduct audits to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and H-E-B regulations and standards.
  • Facilities and Equipment: Ensure that facilities and equipment are properly maintained and in good repair to ensure product integrity and Partner safety.
  • Financial Management: Manage Store sundry account and oversee the management/order of store wrap and supplies.
  • Claims and Damages: Oversees Store claims and damages, identifying shrink opportunities.
  • Customer Complaints: Handle customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: School of Retail Leadership (SORL) training or proven track record with several years of management experience with VP and HR approval.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, excellent customer service skills, analytical, organization, and planning skills, computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel) and H-E-B Systems.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment, exposure to moderate noise level, lift and carry 40-60 pounds on a regular basis, stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead and side-to-side throughout shift.
