The Medical Records Specialist will work closely with the Behavioral Health team to manage medical records, process claims, and undertake special projects. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, the ability to multitask, and effective communication with internal stakeholders.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid role with two days in the office per week
  • Pay: $19 hourly

Responsibilities & Job Functions:

  • Medical Records: Compile, prepare, and audit patient medical records, ensuring timely submission and adherence to Medical Necessity criteria.
  • Office Administration: Manage office supplies and equipment for printing and mailing claim forms and medical records.
  • Auditing: Assist Customer Success Managers/AR Supervisors in auditing medical records to standards and provide feedback.
  • Client Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of patient care information to protect patient rights.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience in Behavioral Healthcare
  • Knowledge of alcoholism, chemical dependency, and co-occurring disorders

Additional Requirements/Skills:

  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations, ASAM standards
  • Ability to make independent decisions and multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Effective time management and minimal supervision
