Job Title: Shift Leader

At Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Leader to join our team. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of employees to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand and implement restaurant operation policies and procedures.
  • Perform Front of House (FOH) and Back of the House (BOH) responsibilities.
  • Interview, hire, train, manage, and supervise employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding employment, hiring, firing, discipline, scheduling, and oversight.
  • Handle and resolve employee and customer complaints and issues.
  • Provide customer service, greet customers, and assist customers with their orders.
  • Promote marketing promotions and new product items to customers.
  • Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) system, handle payment, serve food to customers.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the store by performing daily and weekly cleaning and sanitizing tasks.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in the restaurant industry.
  • Food Handler Card required by state or local health department.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Proficient using MS Word, Excel, Email, and basic computer skills.
Working Conditions:

The kitchen area is hot and noise level is usually high. The walk-in refrigerated area is extremely cold. Working around kitchen equipment and tools.

The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, talking, and hearing for long periods of time. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 50 lbs. Frequent hand washing and the use of cleaning solution. Repetitive movement of arms, fingers, hands, and wrists. Reaching high storage shelving with a stepladder. Squatting, kneeling, and bending to reach for objects in the lower cabinet or shelving.
