Job Summary:

The Media Preparation Technician will be responsible for preparing media, glassware, and dry goods in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cGMP, cGLP, ISO/IEC 17025, and other applicable regulatory requirements. This role will also involve performing water, steam, and critical utility collection, as well as internal and external Environmental Monitoring (EM). The successful candidate will have excellent documentation and writing skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare media, glassware, and dry goods in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements
  • Perform water, steam, and critical utility collection and EM
  • Ensure labs are clean and safe, and properly stocked
  • Prepare media, glassware, and dry goods in strict accordance with SOPs, cGMP, cGLP, ISO/IEC 17025, and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Perform other laboratory tests, such as residue checks, conductivity, and pH
  • Clean and maintain lab equipment, including glassware, freezers, hoods, incubators, water baths, etc.
  • Maintain accurate and complete test records
  • Perform simple supportive assays, such as biological indicator and other testing set-up activities
  • Always be audit-ready
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients and coworkers
Requirements:
  • BS/BA in Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, or equivalent - Microbiology degree preferred
  • 0+ years' relevant experience in microbiology or related scientific field laboratory
  • 0+ years GMP/GLP laboratory/FDA experience required
  • Related training certifications and self-learning are a plus
  • Local candidates (San Francisco Bay Area) preferred
Technical Skills:
  • Excellent documentation and writing skills

  • Clean room experience is a plus but not required

Additional Information:
  • Able to effectively navigate computer systems
  • Ability to work off-shift hours and weekends when needed

The pay range for this position is $41,000 to $51,000 paid on an hourly basis, excluding overtime. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and other benefits.
