ASPIRE Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Histopathology Technician to join our dynamic laboratory team at the VA Illiana Healthcare System (Danville VAMC).

In this critical role, you will perform various histopathological procedures that aid physicians in disease diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities include preparing and processing tissue specimens, performing routine and specialized histopathological staining techniques, and adhering to high standards of laboratory practices.

Your meticulous approach will play a vital role in the accuracy of diagnostic results and, ultimately, in the quality of patient care.

Key qualifications include a Certificate/Associate's degree in Histotechnology or a related field and Histopathology Technician (HT) certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification.

Preferred qualifications include Basic Life Support BLS (CPR) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).

Experience in histopathology or related laboratory settings is required, with at least 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities include accessioning and receiving samples, preparing specimens for analysis, editing and verifying results, and maintaining specialized supplies.

You will also perform a full range of automated and non-automated laboratory procedures, calibrate and maintain instruments, and conduct quality control procedures.

Additionally, you will communicate with clinics and providers, participate in VISN technical committees, and develop partnerships with local funeral homes.
