Job Summary

As a Cath Lab Technologist with Sigma Healthcare, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety in the electrophysiology laboratory. Your expertise will be essential in preparing patients for exams, utilizing imaging protocols, and optimizing technical factors to maximize patient safety and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures correct orders are obtained, patients are properly identified and prepared for exams, and clinical history is corroborated and documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilizes appropriate imaging protocols and optimizes technical factors to maximize patient safety and care.
• Prepares and/or administers medications through new or existing vascular access sites as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
• Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post-processing if applicable.
• Educates and monitors students and other healthcare providers.
• Assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional cardiology procedures.
• Maintains and troubleshoots electrophysiology laboratory equipment to ensure operability and safety.
• Maintains intra-arterial access as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
• Operates and ensures the quality control of devices, electrocardiogram monitoring equipment/cardiac stimulator, oxygen consumption equipment, and blood analysis equipment.
• Maintains and removes peripherally inserted central catheters as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
• Initiates ACLS protocols as required for cardiac roles.
• Participates in ongoing clinical research trials pertinent to the electrophysiology laboratory.

Requirements

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (required).
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience (preferred).
• Certification(s) and License(s): ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months, Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months, Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist RT(R)RCES, and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
