Job Summary:

This position supports the Senior Director of Energy Finance in identifying, managing, and executing strategies across the MTA family to generate energy cost savings. The role involves designing data collection and analysis methodologies, managing field observations, research, and modeling, including energy cost modeling. The end result enables the design of strategies and programs to optimize decision-making, resource allocation, and efficiency through revised MTA energy management practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quantitative analysis, including financial modeling, to support critical decisions impacting MTA's cost structure.
  • Support contract management and negotiations in the Energy Finance area to reduce energy costs and increase efficiency.
  • Manage Energy Finance RFP processes, including issuing RFPs, evaluating proposals, selecting vendors, and supporting the Energy Finance Senior Director with vendor change management.
  • Support the Energy Finance Senior Director in driving consulting work towards valuable analyses and consolidating them to provide strategic decision-making recommendations.
  • Manage energy efficiency and demand management projects, such as the SmartCharge incentive program.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with outstanding academic achievement or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible work or internship experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and/or leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working in a large, multi-faceted, fast-paced organization or governmental body.
  • Familiarity with the MTA's policies and procedures.
