Cybersecurity Incident Response Specialist Job Description

Evolver is looking for a proficient Cybersecurity Incident Response Specialist to enhance our Security Operations Center (SOC). The successful candidate will possess significant expertise in digital investigations, incident management, and reverse engineering, coupled with a robust grasp of cybersecurity instruments and strategies. This role demands a committed expert capable of efficiently addressing and alleviating security threats in a dynamic setting. The position operates in a hybrid model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct digital investigations utilizing tools such as EnCase, FTK, and AXIOM.
  • Employ cybersecurity solutions including FireEye, Microsoft ATA, Splunk, Exabeam, Stealthwatch, and Wireshark for threat detection and incident management.
  • Perform debugging with tools like OllyDbg, WinDbg, and ImmunityDbg.
  • Engage in disassembly and reverse engineering utilizing tools such as IDA Pro.
  • Examine malicious software and possess knowledge of various programming languages and operating systems.
  • Utilize Linux/UNIX command-line environments and have a solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking principles.
  • Lead and assist in incident response efforts, including containment, eradication, and recovery procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive and precise documentation of security incidents and forensic analyses.
  • Ensure adherence to all security protocols and standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining an agency-specific clearance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, AXIOM, or similar.
  • At least 3 years of experience with cybersecurity tools including FireEye, Microsoft ATA, Splunk, Exabeam, Stealthwatch, and Wireshark.
  • Experience with debugging tools (OllyDbg, WinDbg, ImmunityDbg) and disassembly tools (IDA Pro).
  • Hands-on experience in reverse engineering processes.
  • Strong understanding of programming languages and operating systems.
  • Basic familiarity with Linux/UNIX command-line interfaces, TCP/IP, and networking concepts.
  • Must possess at least two (2) of the following certifications: SANS GIAC, IACIS, Guidance Software, or other comparable certifications or experience approved in advance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An active Top-Secret SCI Clearance.
  • 4 years of experience with forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, AXIOM, or similar.
  • 5 years of experience with cybersecurity tools including FireEye, Microsoft ATA, Splunk, Exabeam, Stealthwatch, and Wireshark.
