Patient Care Technician

As a Patient Care Tech at Texas Health Plano, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive work environment. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team in the Medical Surgical Unit.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, and moving patients.
• Collect patient data, identify significant findings, and report them to the nurse.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Revise patient activities of daily living based on patient and family preferences.
• Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Document patient information accurately and appropriately.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• TX CNA or PCT Training Program through NHA, NAHP, and NCCT, accredited community college program, or a THR-approved program required upon hire.
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technician - Military experience with medic/medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) required upon hire.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire.
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification required upon hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.
• Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
