About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Compliance Engineer to join our team at nLIGHT, a rapidly growing vertically integrated supplier of high-performance lasers. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with various regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a robust product compliance program that meets regulatory requirements
  • Research and analyze US and international regulations, standards, and practices to ensure compliance
  • Communicate regulatory changes to stakeholders and provide guidance on compliance matters
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design, development, and marketing of products meet regulatory requirements
  • Lead hands-on product compliance reviews and participate in risk analysis activities
  • Coordinate test execution with external labs, vendors, and internal resources
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product compliance engineering, with at least 3 years as a Product Compliance Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, including IEC 60204, IEC 61326, EN 55011, ISO 9001, ISO 12100, and ISO 31000
  • Working knowledge of European directives, such as RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Low Voltage, and EMC
  • Previous experience working with certification bodies, such as UL, TUV, CSA, Intertek, KETI, CQC, BRE, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Laser industry experience
  • Knowledge of the IEC 60825 standard and 21CFR1040.10
Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
