We are seeking an experienced Technical Application Specialist to join our team at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. As a Technical Application Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers by providing expert technical guidance and support for all aspects of our metrology inspection solutions.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting product demonstrations, training classes, and customer support for our PC-DMIS, Inspire, and PolyWorks software applications. Additionally, they will assist the regional sales team in providing product recommendations for customer applications, prepare operating instructions, and conduct training programs to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic hardware and software product demonstrations showcasing technical features and processes to prospective and existing customers
  • Effectively communicate product benefits for complex applications
  • Assist the regional sales team in providing product recommendations for customer's applications
  • Prepare operating instructions and conduct training programs to meet customer's needs
  • Maintain positive customer relationships through effective interaction
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications for quotations
  • Develop programs/applications that effectively accomplish customer specifications/objectives
  • Consult with customers and incorporate needs and feedback into application designs
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Ensure programs/applications work properly after maintenance and testing
  • Analyze and edit existing programs/applications as needed to optimize performance
  • Tackle challenging issues from problem statement through to resolution and follow-up
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in application engineering and new technologies
  • Collaborate with engineering and marketing groups on product development projects
  • Learn from and study experienced Applications Engineers techniques and work
  • Remain current with skills by attending training classes, independent research, and seminars as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking before small groups
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Creative, analytical, and driven
  • Ability to work under close direction as well as in a team environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 0-2 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or similar environment

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, health savings accounts with employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, 401k plan with generous employer match, paid time off, employee assistance program, paid parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.

Work Environment

This role is based in our office setting, with occasional visits to the factory floor. We maintain a clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated workspace with low to moderate noise levels. If required, PPE will be provided. May require travel up to 70%.
