POSITION SUMMARY:
Financial Reporting Manager


Reports to:
CFO and Controller


Overview: Responsible for the preparation of accounting records and financial statements for various investment entities, corporations, partnerships, and other entities within a family office environment. The Financial Reporting Manager will also assist the Treasury function of the family office and contribute to the preparation of workpapers for tax compliance. This role offers the possibility of hybrid remote/office work, subject to the discretion of the CFO.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is mandatory.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a CPA firm or similar environment with a focus on financial statement preparation is required. Experience in a Family Office is advantageous.
Familiarity with tax workpaper preparation and tax returns is beneficial but not essential.

Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting financial data and other correspondence, with the ability to take appropriate actions based on findings.

Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are necessary for effective interaction with Family Office management and family members of varying financial expertise, as well as banking/investment teams, external accountants, attorneys, and consultants.

Excellent organizational skills are essential to ensure all accounting tasks are completed efficiently and effectively within set deadlines and with minimal oversight.
Strong analytical abilities with a commitment to enhancing processes and internal controls.

Proficiency in technology is preferred, particularly in Excel (advanced), Word, PowerPoint, and general ledger software such as QuickBooks (Desktop), Sage Intaact, or SEI Archway.

A positive, service-oriented attitude towards Family Office clients, colleagues, and other service providers is crucial.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting and Financial Reporting Functions

Transition current entity general ledgers to tax basis financial accounting from existing ledgers in QuickBooks Online in preparation for migration to new software.

Develop a collaborative relationship with the Direct Investments team to proactively manage transactions and gather necessary documentation and approvals to facilitate transaction execution.

Assist in establishing internal controls related to vendor payments and cash management.
Manage bill payments and associated cash management for multiple entities, ensuring proper approvals are obtained prior to cash movement.
Prepare all cash and non-cash journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
Conduct bank reconciliations for review by the Controller.
Prepare and review financial statements for entities for periodic distribution to Family Office Management and the Principal.
Generate entity cash projections to assist the CFO in identifying cash shortfalls or surpluses for investment purposes.
Develop annual budgets and forecasts as required.
Maintain accurate and current files for each entity on the internal network.

Tax Compliance and Strategy

Establish a process for timely preparation and provision of tax workpapers to external accounting firms.
Respond to information requests from external accounting firms.
Review draft tax returns prepared by external accounting firms.
Assist with quarterly tax estimates for various entities as needed.
Facilitate electronic transfer of tax payments.
Ensure timely payment of real estate taxes for properties owned by the entity.

Additional Financial Services
Coordinate capital calls and other cash transfers with relevant banks to ensure timely cash movement.
As directed, provide assistance to the Principal or other Family Members with financial transactions.
Family Office Development and Administration
Adhere to policies and procedures established by the Company.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all financial and family relationship information.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of electronic file storage for all documentation.
Contribute to the development of processes aimed at improving operational efficiencies.
Actively participate as a team member, providing support to the family and Family Office team members.
Be adaptable to changes in this position description as the Family Office evolves.
Be receptive to additional duties as assigned by the Controller or Family Office Management.
