Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering direct services to students, supporting Response to Intervention (RTI) initiatives, and maintaining accurate documentation.
As a crucial member of the therapy services team, you will collaborate with students, families, and educators to provide high-quality speech and language interventions.
Your duties will encompass:- Conducting detailed assessments to identify speech and language challenges affecting academic performance.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to create tailored treatment plans for each student.
- Delivering both direct and indirect speech and language services to identified students.
- Working closely with classroom educators and interdisciplinary teams to promote students' communication development.
- Monitoring student progress through systematic observations and data analysis, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Implementing various service delivery models (e.g., push-in, pull-out) to maximize student outcomes.
- Engaging in school-based RTI initiatives actively.
- Maintaining open communication with caregivers, providing updates and strategies to support student growth at home.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
- Experience working with children, preferably in educational or pediatric environments.
- A Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- A valid D.C. SLP license issued by the D.C. Department of Health, Board of Audiology and Speech Pathology.
