Job Title: Assistive Technology Specialist

At AnthroMed Education, we are seeking a highly skilled Assistive Technology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Assistive Technology (AT) needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Occupational Therapy (OT), or Physical Therapy (PT), with extensive experience in Assistive Technology implementation. You will be responsible for supporting students with AAC and life skills, determining the required AT for each student, and actively participating in IEP goal development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support all aspects of Assistive Technology implementation for students and staff.
  • Determine the required AT for each student to access the curriculum and participate in the community.
  • Actively participate in IEP goal development and attend meetings to provide expertise on Assistive Technology.
  • Respond to Assistive Technology Evaluation requests from the educational team in a timely and collaborative manner.
  • Help manage materials and create activities for students in the classroom.
  • Assist in identifying appropriate multimodal communication supports and ensure adequate follow-up to support usage across contexts.
  • Participate in professional development activities and collaborate with all key stakeholders involved in the allocation and implementation of Assistive Technology.
  • Complete relevant paperwork within required timelines per federal and state law, district policy, and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with assistive technology is required.
  • Advanced Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Occupational Therapy (OT), or Physical Therapy (PT) is required.
  • Valid DC clinical license from the District of Columbia's Department of Health is required.
