Job Summary

Holland & Knight is seeking a highly skilled Senior Billing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for generating monthly client invoices and working closely with our Partners and their assistants to ensure accurate and timely billing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process client bills via Aderant software, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Research and answer billing questions, providing excellent customer service to our clients.
  • Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney and secretary requests, maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Handle and process a high volume of complex bills, utilizing your analytical skills to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for attorneys as needed, providing timely and accurate information to support their business needs.
  • Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned, demonstrating your flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of progressive experience as a Biller in a law firm environment, with a strong understanding of financial operations and billing procedures.
  • Aderant software experience preferred, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • E-Billing experience a plus, with a strong understanding of electronic billing systems and processes.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Flexibility for overtime required, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and correspondence.
  • Self-starter with the ability to successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands, with a strong sense of initiative and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize workflow, and use time efficiently, with a strong sense of prioritization and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify trends and patterns.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs, with a strong sense of proactivity and a willingness to take the initiative to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Understanding of accounts payable, the processes involved, and related applications, with a strong sense of financial acumen and a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
