Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team at Hernandez Construction & Development. The successful candidate will assist the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager with the daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of the project(s) to meet time and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Manager with coordination and project-related activities such as preparing job start-up, securing properly executed subcontracts and purchase order agreements, and requesting trade partner insurance certificates.
  • Monitor and expedite material delivery with the Superintendent.
  • Prepare statements of work (SOW) and schedule of values (SOV), review pay applications, maintain "Record" drawings, manage requests for information (RFIs).
  • Create, update, review, process, and maintain submittals. Provide photo documentation for project records.
  • Attend project-related meetings, participate in owner meetings, coordinate change management directives, participate in weekly safety and subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Review and update the project schedule, monitor and adjust the project budget, assist in project planning.
  • Assist team with closeout activities.
Requirements
  • Preferred 4-year degree in an accredited construction-related curriculum (BSCE, BSCM, BSAE, etc.) or experience equivalent to a 4-year degree.
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience at Project Engineer level, or at least three years on construction-related experience.
  • Strong background with PC-based programs including scheduling and spreadsheet applications. These include Procore, Excel, and Word.
