Biomedical Equipment Specialist

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of medical equipment, ensuring that it is functioning properly and safely for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repair of medical equipment, including dialysis machines and water treatment systems.
- Coordinate with vendors to schedule and complete repairs and maintenance of physical plant equipment.
- Participate in preventive maintenance of ancillary devices, ensuring compliance with manufacturer's recommendations and company policies.
- Manage inventory of service parts and ensure timely return of RGA and warranty parts.
- Collect and process water/dialysate samples and review quality results.
- Document daily, weekly, and monthly repair and maintenance activities.
- Update project tracking and documentation systems as assigned.
- Participate in monthly Technical CQI/QAI process, assisting with data analysis and contributing to technical discussions.
- Collaborate with facility staff to ensure regulatory and OSHA requirements are met.
- Review water system documentation to verify compliance.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly trend analysis on the water system.
- Manage Program's Medical Supply Inventory, ensuring the correct inventory is available to support patient treatments.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Associate Degree in electronics/biomedical technology or equivalent a plus.
- Valid Driver's License issued in the employee's state of residence required.
- 0-1 year related experience.
- Manual dexterity required - ability to use common hand tools and small power equipment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to comprehend and communicate in the English language.
- Computer literacy with the ability to navigate through common operating systems, such as Microsoft Office products.
- Employees are required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment.
- Position involves active work including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for considerable lengths of time.
- Use of dollies or other equipment is mandatory when moving heavy weight items.
- Potential exposure to chemicals and infectious materials.
- Work environment is typically air temperature controlled with moderate noise levels.
