Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Administrative and HR Manager to join our team at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). This is a full-time position that will be responsible for a broad scope of HR-related actions and processes, including planning, developing, implementing, and administering recruitment, onboarding, renewal, and separation processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and review work flows for smooth operations as it relates to the department's administrative functions with emphasis on HR operations for the non-faculty academics and staff groups.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and administer recruitment, onboarding, renewal, and separation processes in consultation and collaboration with Human Resources (HR) Shared Services.
  • Serve as a key administrative and HR resource for faculty and departmental leadership, providing oversight and guidance to ensure a successful collaborative partnership between the academic department and the operations of the clinical enterprise.
  • Ensure processes are consistent with policy, and implemented uniformly across all missions, making recommendations for improvements to streamline activities, maximizing quality, execution, and productivity.
  • Participate in special projects, and strategic planning through collaboration with senior staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and three years of experience with at least one year of supervisory/lead experience or equivalent experience/training.
  • Working knowledge of the organization's processes and procedures, rules and regulations, with emphasis on HR-related policy, processes, and workflows.
  • Ability to manage the flow and function of the administrative academic needs of those functions assigned.
  • Ability to work with senior executives on confidential initiatives, projects, and other business.
  • Superb skills in short-term/long-term planning, analysis, and problem-solving, and customer service.
  • Demonstrated skills in employee supervision.
  • Strong service orientation with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Skills to evaluate issues and identify resolutions.
  • Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HR Certification, Project Management Certification, UCSF Leadership Development Series for Supervisors.
  • Knowledge of common university-specific computer application programs (AP Recruit, Brass Ring, Advance, Microsoft Suite).
