Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program in the State of New Mexico. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nutrition and public health, with experience in program management and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and document participants' nutrition risk and prescribe food packages
  • Provide one-on-one and group nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion and support
  • Refers participants to other health and social services and provides follow-up
  • Documents nutrition services provided, including referrals and follow-up
  • Maintain effective and efficient WIC Program operations in the Region
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a social, community, health, education, or nutritional field
  • Three years of experience in nutrition and public health, with a focus on program management and staff supervision
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Valid Driver's License and Defensive Driving Course Certification
Working Conditions

This position is performed in an office setting with exposure to visual/video display terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Extended periods of driving and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be required. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and moderate office noise, heat, cold, and smells.
