Job Summary

The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety is seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Executive Office, you will play a critical role in developing policies to support effective oversight of electrical corporations' efforts to reduce utility-ignited wildfires.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a top advisor to the Director, providing expert guidance on policy formulation and recommendations related to electrical infrastructure safety, electrical utilities, underground excavation safety, and departmental policy.
  • Advise the Director on matters related to electrical infrastructure safety, electrical utilities, underground excavation safety, and general departmental policy, governance, modernization, and administration.
  • Develop and implement policies to support effective oversight of electrical corporations' efforts to reduce utility-ignited wildfires.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address key issues related to energy infrastructure safety.
  • Provide strategic guidance on policy development and implementation, ensuring alignment with the Office's goals and objectives.

  • Strong background in policy development and implementation, with a focus on energy infrastructure safety.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of energy infrastructure safety regulations and policies.

Working Conditions

This position is designated under the Conflict-of-Interest Code. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict-of-Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
