Job Summary:

UofL Health is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician II to join our team at Peace Hospital. As a Mental Health Technician II, you will play a vital role in providing patient care to individuals in crisis, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, participating in crisis management, and assisting with patient care activities such as vital sign monitoring and specimen collection.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
  • Participate in the identification, management, and stabilization of crisis situations
  • Assist with physical examinations, safety searches, and transferring patients
  • Perform vital sign monitoring, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing as needed
  • Collaborate with the nursing care team and other disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care


Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • College coursework in social and health sciences preferred
  • One year of inpatient or emergency psychiatry experience preferred


Certifications:

  • CPR accredited by the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers required
