IT Automation QA Lead

Job Summary
The Ryder IT Automation QA Lead will be responsible for ensuring the quality of all projects within one or more project vertical markets. This role will establish project priorities and manage the activities of QA Consultants, Specialists, Analysts, contractors, and interns within the team, delivering each project within established commitments, ensuring quality, performance, and conformance with established specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the Ryder QA methodology is adhered to on all projects under their control.
- Review and revise, as necessary, the quality assurance objectives and processes, including definition and implementation of the environment and infrastructure of quality assurance.
- Participate in defining overall releases, engineering infrastructure, review and revision of quality metrics and measurement systems.
- Key Responsibilities include: review compliance with current standards and procedures for project business requirements documentation, testing documentation and measurements; identify, improve, and implement standards for QA processes; train team members on Ryder's QA methodology; assist in the research and implementation of appropriate QA productivity and testing tools; development and maintenance of QA Estimation Tools- Provide leadership with Project Management tools and techniques.
- Create test data, test cases, and test execution for applications. Document and work to resolve all complex problems. Report progress on problem resolution to management. Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future organization and improvements. Resource will act as subject matter expert in assigned areas. Perform complex workflow analysis and recommend quality improvements.
- Staff, coordinate, and manage all QA projects and a group of QA testers. Provide test automation, security test, and performance test guidance to all testers in the QA team by being involved with project-level work as needed. Perform and lead tests of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
- Ensure that design for automated tests includes: code reusability, parameterization, robustness (automation code does not break easily with changes in application and/or data), scalability, and flexibility, reduce the number of maintenance points.
- Lead automation test teams to define test strategy, involve in architect test automation best practices, design tests, create test cases, and execute tests.
- Enable automated testing in the context of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CICD).
- Evaluate technical feasibility of testing solutions/designs in a wide range of technology platforms.
Requirements
- Experience in Quality Assurance, process, and procedure experience with Test Plans and Test Scripts.
- PC proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Hands-on experience in Tricentis TOSCA, Java/C#, Selenium, Appium, Webservices/API automation, SQL, CI/CD Integration, Git, Agile.
- Knowledge on Visual Testing, Accessibility testing - preferred.
- Experience in Quality Assurance, process, and procedure experience with Test Plans and Test Scripts.
- PC proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge on Azure DevOps - preferred.

- Establishing appropriate project milestones.
- Managing the allocation of resources to ensure delivery of results.
- Prepares and gives presentations related to QA activities to business users and project teams.
- Gather project requirements and specifications from vendors, project managers, and end-users.
- Oversee project test planning and execution.
- Coordinating all testing efforts, including the setup and use of testing environments.
- Participates, as required, in a hands-on role, contributing with his/her technical/functional expertise.
- Ensuring that projects adhere to established quality standards and measurements.
- Tracking project status and ensuring that projects adhere to proposed schedules.
- Tracking project budget and ensuring that projects adhere to proposed budgets.
- Re-establishing milestones if necessary due to project scope changes.
- Communicating project status to all appropriate and interested parties.
- Anticipating and addressing project obstacles.
- Issue Resolution/Escalation.
- Telecommute effectively as needed and as directed by manager.
- Ensuring that appropriate documentation has been completed and distributed to operations, configuration management, and business users before deployment.
- Recognizing and communicating individual and team contributions.
- Attend project test phase metrics review and approves migration to production environment.
- Coordinates and participates in post-implementation reviews.
- Liaison with application or customer verticals, project management teams on a regular basis to ensure that upcoming projects are planned.
- Plan, develop, and execute new process and procedures for test teams.
- Plan, develop, and execute key metrics for the QA team.
- Plan, develop, and execute monthly dashboards and presentations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Technology.
Experience
Seven (7) years or more experience in Quality Assurance software testing.
Salary
The salary for this position ranges from $85K - $105K.
